Art Direction for Royale Chess, a modern competitive take on a classic game - this is not your grandpa’s chess! The client wanted an esports-level intensity paired with a retro game vibe, brought to life through voxel art and 2D VFX. I shaped the overall aesthetic around their voxelized pieces and created the Style guide, UI/UX, and Key Visual (splash).
